Guide 1: How to Add Transition Effect to Video
Step 1. Download and Install the Program
Click the button above, you can get the free trial version of the EditFUN. The trial version has some limitations, but these will doesn't affect your evaluation.

Step 2. Import Media Files
1. First, import your source file to this program by clicking "Import" button.
2. Next, drag the source file to the timeline for editing.
Note: If you want to add a transition into the middle of one video, you have to cut the video into several clips. You can learn how to finish it from: How to Trim the Video/Audio Files.
Step 3. Add Transition Between Clips
Go to "Transition" window, you can see all the transitions provided with this program. Put the mouse on the one effect then you can simply preview it. And there are 2 ways to add transition into video clips.
Way 1. Select one clip on the video and click on "+" icon. From the pop-up window, select a transition mode you like.
Way 2. Click and hold the left mouse button directly on a transition, and drag it to the junction of the two clips, release the left mouse button. Now you have successfully added a transition between these two clips.
Note: Remember, the transition effects are merely a tool, use it wisely. Don't try to put all available effects into a single clip, but select those transitions that express your feelings and emotions best of all.
Step 4. Replace the Transition
If you don't like the transition you added, you can also replace it via 2 ways:
One is to click the left mouse button on the transition and drag it to replace the transition on the track. Another way is to select the transition and click on the "+" button.
Guide 2: How to Edit the Transitions
Select the transition on the track, click "Edit" in the toolbar, or double click the transition. You'll come to the "Properties" window. Here, you can make some settings for the transition.
For example, the transition time is the duration of the transition. Its unit is 'second' and the default is 2 seconds. You are able to enter the value directly.
Or, we can change the transition time by dragging the transition's edge on the track. To do this, you will need to place your mouse at the front or end of the transition, the icon will appear. Press the left mouse button and drag the icon to change the duration of the transition.
In the drop-down list, some other effects of this transition can be set by yourself.
• The transition type in the drop-down list can be changed to another one.
• The radio button after "Reverse" is not checked by default. You can check it to reverse the direction of the transition.
• The "Soft" slider is to set the softness of the transition edge. When set to 0, the transition edge is tough. When set to 100, the transition edge is softer. That means the larger for this effect, the softer of the transition edge.
• The transition sound is for setting the audio transition. There are two choices, Fade in/out and Mixture. You can choose one of them.
